Am Beginn des 21. Jahrhunderts ist die antizionistische Ideologie zu neuem Leben erwacht und weist weit über den Kreis linker Kleingruppen hinaus. Die Existenz von Antisemitismus in der Linken ist heute evident. Angesichts der ausufernden Literatur, die ihn wieder und wieder belegt, kann sein Leugnen heute nur mehr als eine seiner Ausdrucksformen angesehen werden. Im Antizionismus tritt er als eine spezifische Form des Antisemitismus nach Auschwitz auf, der sich aus Mangel an konkreten Hassobjekten gegen den kollektiven Juden, den Staat Israel, richtet. Dass die im Antizionismus angelegten Vernichtungsphantasien nicht Realität geworden sind, verdankt sich einzig und allein der israelischen Staatsgewalt
